"Fashion Our Own Narative"

After watching Sari & Holly's fabulously styled wedding, Susan Herr got in touch wanting to do a piece on fashion for gay weddings. Her article "Fashion Our Own Narative" was just published on the website gayweddings.com. What a great piece! I love Holly's quote at the end: “Don’t try to equivocate. Once you are having a gay wedding, don’t fret over your gender expression making folks uncomfortable. You gotta claim it as your day.”

Featured on 100 Layer Cake!

One of my fave blogs, 100 Layer Cake did a feature on Sari and Holly's wedding images from the very talented team Weddings By Two. It was so fun to shoot with Ben in Cape Cod and he got some stunning images. Especially the antique Tin Type shots from his large format camera. Amazing couple, amazing day!

Please see the feature here.

Featured on Once Wed!

We were ecstatic about being included in the wonderful feature published by Emily on her lovely blog, Once Wed. When we worked along side Robert Sukrachand in June, I just knew he was taking killer photos. Robert (aka Bobby) also shoots with real film, so I was naturally excited to see the results. Well, his work did not disappoint... the images he took that day were utterly gorgeous!

Please see for yourself and read the feature (which includes our highlights film from the day as well).

Featured on POSH

The very cool POSH Event for female filmmakers asked for an interview about me and Hello Super 8. I'm a fan of supporting women business owners and especially filmmakers, so this was a welcome opportunity. I'm super bummed to miss out on the amazing-sounding retreat in November but alas, I'll be busy shooting a wedding!

In any case, read the interview here. Thanks to Reagan from POSH for reaching out.

Message Booth featured on Offbeat Bride

Once again, our Hello Message Booths have been deemed one of the best guestbook alternatives for creative brides. Offbeat Bride includes our message booths among instrument guestbooks and "guestballs" as a fun way to get messages from your party's guests. We couldn't agree more, especially with our latest and greatest message booth, courtesy of amazingly fun couple Nita & Rehan and their very enthusiastic friends!

"Meet the Vendor" feature on Hi-Fi Weddings blog

I was thrilled when Ashley, from Hi-Fi Weddings got in touch to A) talk shop about vintage cameras and B) be featured on her awesome website and take her kick-ass music questionnaire. Just to let you know, her site is SO COOL! I happened upon it by way of twitter and was thrilled to find out someone had a dedicated site to music for your wedding! She features awesome eye candy AND great music (my 2 fave topics!). It's a wonderful resource when you're at a loss for what to play at your event. I'm excited to have her great music guide when I'm searching for the perfect track to accompany groovy super 8 images.

Anyway, I could have agonized over her questionnaire, trying to figure out what made me sound cool or what others wanted to hear but I took the old "whatever comes to your head" route and was happy with my answers. Who wouldn't want to see Stevie with Erykah, Lauren, and Jill on back-up with Prince and Snoop opening? Or have a secret fantasy of rocking a mean jazz flute? HA!

Please read the feature here. Thanks to Ashley for including us. We hope to have some excellent clips with equally good music to share on her site in the near future!

Featured on CasaSugar

Thanks to CasaSugar, a site devoted to stylish home decor and wedding trends, for awarding our message booths as one of the 10 Great Alternatives to Wedding Guestbooks. Our silent movie-style message booths let guests write fun messages to the bride and groom and get silly in front of the camera. A bit more exciting than just writing a note in a book! The Hello message booths ranked among other film-centric guestbook options, like photo booths and Polaroids, as one of the coolest ways to send wedding day tidings.

Here's our fave sample (thus far):

Sinatra House wedding feature on Style Me Pretty

This was one of our favorite weddings to date. The impeccable design by R. Jack Balthazar and Unscene Inc. was so so fantastic. I remember walking into the venue and being completely stunned by the brilliant pop of colors. Those gorgeous lamp shades coupled with the lovely array of vibrant flowers was a feast for the eyes. And you know, I'm a fan of yummy bright colors.

Enjoy the feature and from Style Me Pretty.

And if you never saw the awesome film we created for this wedding, be sure to view the highlights.

New York Weddings Magazine

We have the honor of being listed in New York's best vendor reference list this year! I'm tickled pink to be included in such a high caliber of talent. I just flipped through the latest issue and it's fab. Be sure to pick up a copy. I'm sad that we won't be in NY to attend the big NY Weddings Event but I know I'll get the full report from my industry pals.

Be sure to check it out though... one of the best events in NY by far!

Love from Brazil

I was happy to see word about wonderful super 8 has traveled South, as we were just featured on the Brazilian blog Bem Lembrados. Unfortunately, I can't read Portuguese but it's still pretty cool to be recognized in one of my favorite countries on the planet. If any Brazilians are reading this... we'll give you an extra special discount to come down and film your wedding. ;)

Venus Magazine Article: DIY filmmaking

I was interviewed along with Amy French (writer/director/actress), Hayley Stuart (indie filmmaker) and Celine Diano (indie film production designer) for Venus Magazine a couple months ago for their do-it-yourself article on filmmaking. We had a great time sharing thoughts, inspirations, and the trials and tribulations on making movies. It's a great read for anyone interested in getting their hands dirty and wanting to learn the art of making films... from commercial to art films to vintage super 8 films!

They also featured my top five vintage cameras. If you want to read the whole article, click here to download a pdf.
